Choosing where to rent can be a complicated process. There are all sorts of factors that will influence the areas where you search and the places you rule out. If you’re considering renting in Radyr or Whitchurch, you’re in luck. These areas are in demand for good reason – they have a lot to offer and, depending on your individual needs and preferences, there’s a good chance they’ll tick all the boxes. Here’s a little more information on these areas, as well as some of the perks of living there.

Radyr

Radyr is an outer suburb of Cardiff, lying roughly 4 miles northwest of Cardiff’s city centre. Part of Radyr and Morganstown Community, Raydr is well known for its unique character and the vibrant quality of life that it offers to its inhabitants.

Transport

Believe it or not, Radyr has over 200 trains running through its station each weekday. It is the northern terminus of the Cardiff City Line, so you can travel throughout Wales and further easily. As well as excellent train services, the area has a reliable bus service connecting Radyr and Morganstown to Cardiff City Bus Station. If you drive, Radyr is close to the M4, and you’ll find that the B4262 runs through the centre of Radyr and Morganstown.

Education

If you have children or are planning children, Radyr has high-quality schools. Radyr Primary School in Park Road currently has 11 classes, over 300 pupils and two nursery schools. The area’s Comprehensive School has more than 1,400 pupils from across west Cardiff, plus a large Sixth Form college with roughly 300 students. There is also an active adult education centre.

Whitchurch

Whitchurch is a suburb community located roughly 3 miles to the north of Cardiff. People are drawn to this area, not only for its prime location but also thanks to its appealing character.

Transport

If you’re planning on commuting to Cardiff city centre for work, Whitchurch could be ideal for you. It has road access on the M4 and AA70 for those who drive. If you don’t have a car, you’ll find yourself between two of the urban Valley Lines rail networks. Plus, you have the option of getting the bus, which frequently runs to Cardiff City Centre.

Education

If you have children or plan to have children, schools in Whitchurch have an excellent reputation. Whether you opt for an English or Welsh-speaking school, you’ll find brilliant options. As well as schools, there are three local nurseries, which provide reliable and trustworthy childcare facilities.

Of course, there are other brilliant elements to these two areas, but these are some of the factors that people consider earliest on in their search.
