Founded in 1927, Whitchurch-Heath Cricket Club runs four senior league sides and has a thriving youth section for players aged nine to 17. The club is dedicated to playing competitive cricket in a welcoming, inclusive and social environment, and is open to players of all standards and abilities.
This year’s commitment to the club included a front-of-shirt sponsorship in addition to financial support to help the club invest in its future and improve its facilities.
How did the club do in the 2025 cricket season?
Whitchurch-Heath Cricket Club competes in four senior leagues as well as a number of friendly matches, while its junior teams compete in the Cardiff & Vale Junior Cricket League. These are vibrant competitions that champion grassroots development, competitive spirit, and community connection across south Wales.
Whitchurch-Heath Cricket Club’s 1st XI enjoyed a standout 2025 season in the South East Wales Cricket League, winning 11 league fixtures and showcasing their consistency and competitive edge across the region. From narrow victories against Penarth and Lisvane to dominant performances against Rogerstone and Merthyr Tydfil, the team demonstrated resilience, skill, and unity throughout the season, as well as the strength of their squad.
Following in the senior teams’ footsteps, the Junior section continued to thrive with each age group achieving wins during the season and demonstrating growing confidence, teamwork and technical skill.
